Thac Ba Lake is located to the Northwest of Vietnam, it is considered as “Ha Long Bay on mountain”. Being one of the three biggest lakes of Vietnam, Thac Ba was made during the time that the Thac Ba hydropower station was being built from 1961-1971. Thac Ba Lake is in Yen Binh and Luc Yen districts, 13 kilometers from Yen Bai City along the road from Yen Bai to Hanoi. The lake has a length of over 89km and a width of 8-12km. Its depth is 50-60 meters. There are more than 1,300 islands scattering in an area of nearly 23,500 hectares with many beautiful caves on limestone mountains.
