According to a report by the provincial people’s committee, in 2018, Ha Nam attracted 126 investment projects, including 46 foreign direct investment (FDI) projects totaling US$445 million in registered capital, becoming one of the top-10 FDI attractors in the country.

Huy attributed the achievement partly to the contribution of the electricity sector in general and the Northern Power Corporation (EVNNPC) in particular, noting that electric infrastructure is one of the 10 biggest drivers of investment attraction in the province. The power sector has committed to supplying power to industrial parks, ensuring sufficient, high-quality power for business operation.

A Ha Nam Power Company representative said EVNNPC annually invests hundreds of billions of dong to improve power grids, including construction of 110kV power transmission lines and transformer stations to meet the demand of investors especially those in industrial zones.

Early this year, EVNNPC put into use the VND125-billion, 2x63 MVA, 110kv Dong Van 4 transformer station project in Dong Van 4 Industrial Park in Nhat Tuu Commune of Ha Nam Province’s Kim Bang District.

A representative of the EVNNPC Power Development Project Management Unit said the project is of great significance as it helps minimize power loss, prevent overloading of the regional grid and ensure reliable, safe, quality power supply. The project has met the growing power demand in Dong Van 4 Industrial Park while helping promote economic development and contributing to social security and order in the province.

The provincial electricity industry has also improved customer service quality by simplifying administrative procedures and information regarding electricity services, among others.
