(VEN) - The Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Nguyen Xuan Cuong, said at a conference reviewing the agricultural sector in 2016 and plans for 2017 in Hanoi on December 26, 2016 that 2017 is an important year for implementation of the national socioeconomic development plan, as well as the 2016-2020 agricultural sector development plan. A 2.5-2.8 percent growth in farm produce, forest products and seafood production value, a 3-3.2 percent growth in the whole agricultural sector’s production value, and export revenue of US$32-32.5 billion are the major targets of the sector in 2107, the minister added.
MoIT to lower logistics costs

6.7-percent GDP growth: A challenging target

(VEN) - Vietnam failed to reach the 6.7-percent gross domestic product (GDP) growth target set for 2016 by the National Assembly. And although the growth rate improved significantly in the third and fourth quarters, creating a momentum for higher growth in 2017, the General Statistics Office of Vietnam (GSO) predicts that the 6.7-percent GDP growth target set for 2017 is a challenging one.
