The Government official made the statement at his working session with Thai Nguyen province on June 21.

He asked the local authorities to attach special attention to social housing constructions for the workers in order to avoid them being forced to live in poor makeshift accommodation.

He also stressed the need to improve welfare facilities such as a medical station, school, and entertainment facilities in order to ensure the physical and spiritual life of the workers and their families.

According to a report released by the provincial People’s Committee, around 130 businesses are now operating in Thai Nguyen with over 81,000 employees. However, housing facilities provided by the business has met only 27% of the workers demands.

Earlier the same day, the Deputy PM visited and had talks with workers at Samsung Electronics Vietnam Thai Nguyen Co. Ltd and presented gifts to the children of workers who are employed at the TNG Song Cong industrial park./.
