Speaking at reception for Finnish Ambassador to Vietnam Kari Kahiluoto in Hanoi on January 25, the Deputy PM called on the Finnish Government and the Ambassador in particular to take measures to boost bilateral trade and investment, and encourage Finnish businesses to operate in Vietnam, particularly in such fields of clean energy, renewal energy, environment, water treatment, information and technology and communications.

Vietnam’s Foreign Ministry and other ministries and sectors will create the most favorable conditions for the Ambassador to fulfil his tasks, he stressed.

For his part, Ambassador Kahiluoto reaffirmed that he would do his best to promote and deepen the Vietnam-Finland relations, particularly in the fields of trade and investment, education and training, and science and technology.

Vietnam is one of Finland’s key partners in Asia, he said, noting with pleasure that Finnish businesses are increasingly showing interest in Vietnamese market.

He also pledged Finland’s continued support to Vietnam in the implementation of the EU-Vietnam Framework Agreement on Comprehensive Partnership and Cooperation (PCA), and the official signing of the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement.
