Deputy PM: Culture inspires creative potential of humans

Culture will inspire and multiply creative potential and mobilize great endogenous power in humans, contributing to more rapid and sustainable development in the country.

Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam spoke at a ceremony held on March 26 at the Hanoi University of Culture (HUC) to celebrate the 60th anniversary of its establishment and receive the Labour Order, third class.

Speaking at the event, the Deputy PM noted that, over the past 60 years, the HUC has strived to become the biggest training facility for cultural and tourism staff in the country.

Pointing out various difficulties and challenges that the university has faced during the process of fundamental and comprehensive innovation of education in the context of low economic potential, the ability of the State budget and people’s revenue, he appreciated its efforts in finding out appropriate directions.

Deputy PM Dam also said that the development of an advanced culture imbued with national identities requires the participation of talented cultural workers, therefore, cultural training centres, particularly the HUC, are responsible for training them.

He asked students and young lecturers from the university to promote their pioneering spirit in studying and creating in order to grasp and master knowledge.

The youths should set an example in the movements of ‘good people, good deeds’ and spread cultural attitudes and spirit, as well as criticise and gradually abandon bad habits, added the Deputy PM.

He urged more attention from the Party committees and governments at all levels to the development of culture and the enhancement of investment resources for this field.
