Accordingly, small-and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) involved in the brick, ceramics and food industries can access loans from the three banks and receive financial assistance equivalent to 50% of their bank loans under the bank guarantee for energy saving investment projects.

Within the framework of the Danish Green Investment Facility (GIF) programme, the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Danish Embassy established a US$6.5 million investment fund to carry out the GIF programme for Vietnamese SMEs that runs until June 2017.

Denmark authorised ANZ Bank to manage the fund.

Danish Ambassador to Vietnam John Nielsen said his nation, over the past five years, has provided nearly US$30 million for the Southeast Asian nation to improve sustainable energy efficiency.

Under the GIF programme, Denmark will finance around 100-300 projects till the end of 2016, 30-40 projects of which will be carried out by later this year./.
