Cua Ong Coal Selection Company receives Independence Order, first class

The Cua Ong Coal Selection Company, under the Vietnam National Coal – Mineral Industries Holding Corporation Limited, held a ceremony on August 20 to mark its 55th anniversary and receive the Independence Order, first class for their outstanding achievements in production.

Vice President Nguyen Thi Doan attended the event and presented the Order to the company.

Over the five decades, Cua Ong Coal Selection Company has made innovations in technology and equipment as well as focused on infrastructure upgrades and construction of production premises for specialisation and synchronisation along the production chain.

So far, the company has developed strongly with total assets of more than VND2.2 trillion (US$98.23 million).

The company has sorted numerous high-quality coal, meeting the demand of domestic coal consumption and export. Its consumed coal volume reached 9.1 million tonnes in 2014, up 7.585 million tonnes over 2000.

The lives of officers and employees in the company have improved, with the monthly average income per capita increasing from VND5.6 million (US$250.04) in 2010 to VND6.5 million (US$290.23) in 2014.

The total revenue of the Cua Ong company reached VND12.1 trillion (US$540.26 million), while it earned profits of VND317.8 billion (US$14.2 million) last year./.
