The Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) will continue strengthening its solidarity and traditional friendship with the Mozambique Liberation Front (FRELIMO) Party and promoting cooperation between the two countries, a Vietnamese official has stated.

Chau Van Lam, member of the CPV Central Committee and Secretary of the provincial Party Committee of Tuyen Quang province, delivered the message at the 11th National Congress of the FRELIMO Party in Maputo, the capital city of Mozambique, during his visit taking place from September 24-27.
Member of the CPV Central Committee Lam said that the CPV and Vietnamese people are grateful to the FRELIMO Party, progressive forces and people of Mozambique for their support in the country’s struggle for national liberation in the past and the current development process.
He lauded the achievements made by the African country over the past 42 years, saying that under the leadership of the FRELIMO Party, the Mozambican people have overcome many difficulties since the People’s Republic of Mozambique was founded on June 25, 1975.
The Vietnamese official expressed his belief that with resolutions adopted by the Congress, the FRELIMO Party and Mozambican people would reap even greater success in national development.
At a reception for the Vietnamese official, FRELIMO Party Secretary General Eliseu Machava spoke highly of the achievements obtained by the CPV and Vietnamese people over more than 30 years of reform, considering them as a source of encouragement.
He expressed his wish to boost relations between the two parties, thus laying a foundation for strengthening the collaboration between the two governments and people.
Member of the CPV Central Committee Chau Van Lam, for his part, expressed his delight at the success of the Vietnamese telecom provider Viettel’s joint venture Movitel, saying that it is a testament to Vietnam’s investment efficiency in the country.
He wished that the FRELIMO Party’s 11th Congress would be successful and that the cooperative ties between the two parties will grow further.
On the occasion, the Vietnamese delegation met with foreign delegates to the congress, attended the Vietnam-Mozambique business forum and visited cultural establishments in Maputo.
