Promoting Indian-Vietnamese pharmaceutical cooperation

The cooperation between India and Vietnam in the field of pharmaceutical industry has grown faster. India’s status as a crucial partner in supplying affordable medicines was reaffirmed at the Indian Pharma Expo & Buyer Seller Meet held in Ho Chi Minh City recently. The exhibition was organized by the Pharmaceutical Export Promotion Council of India (PHARMEXCIL) and supported by the Indian Chamber of Commerce (InCham) in Vietnam, attracting more than 50 Indian companies in various sectors and areas such as formulations, active pharmaceutical ingredients, nutraceuticals, biologicals, herbal products, equipment, pharma machinery, and project implementation.

(VEN) - Vietnam is an important market for Malaysia within the ASEAN region. The prime ministers of both countries agreed to increase bilateral trade to US$11 billion by 2015 during a recent bilateral meeting and official visit to Hanoi by Malaysia’s Prime Minister in February 2014. Vietnam Economic News’ My Phung spoke with Faizal Izany Mastor, the Trade Commissioner of the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) in Ho Chi Minh City, to have an overview of trade relations between the two countries during last years. Mastor also underlined opportunities for Vietnamese and Malaysian businesses after the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) is established.
