(VEN) - Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc concluded his trip to Thailand to attend the eighth Ayeyawady-Chao Phraya-Mekong Economic Cooperation Strategy Summit (ACMECS 8) and the ninth Cambodia-Laos-Myanmar-Vietnam Summit (CLMV 9). At the two summits, the leaders affirmed their determination to strengthen cooperation in order to promote the economic potential of member countries, contribute to the development of the ASEAN Community, and ensure sustainable and inclusive development in the Mekong region.

(VEN) - Some 200 delegates and experts from dozens of Asian and European states met last month in the Mekong Delta city of Can Tho to discuss how best to adapt to climate change while attaining development targets. The “Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) Conference on Climate Action to Achieving the Sustainable Development Goals – Ways Forward” was held on June 19-20.

The Middle East and Africa, with a total population of more than 1.6 billion people and large purchasing power, are emerging as potential markets for Vietnam’s agriculture and aquaculture products as traditional markets have approached the point of saturation. However, the new markets are rather difficult to access due to a number of specific issues, such as cultural or religious differences, food habits and business practices that require suitable access.
