The Thai club defeated the Vietnamese national team 25-20, 25-18, 25-10.
It was the second meet and second defeat of the host to Chonburi during this tournament.
Chonburi, who has not lost any set during their competition, taking home a bonus of US$13,000.
Meanwhile, the Indonesian national team defeated China’s U17 squad 25-16, 25-19, 25-15 to take third position.
Coach Thai Thanh Tung of Vietnam said there was a large skills gap between Vietnam and Thailand, which could be seen by Vietnam’s loss to Chonburi in the final match.
“A lack of experience in high level competition is one of our weak points. Vietnam also makes mistakes in digging and defending, while today the blockers did not perform well. We could not catch up with the rapid and dynamic pace set up by the Thai team.”
However, he said it was a lesson for his young players who showed off their determination throughout the match.Last year, U23 Thailand was crowned champion after defeating Chinese Liaoning Brilliance Auto 3-1 in the final./.
