China’s NPC chairman starts visit to Vietnam

Zhang Dejiang, member of the Communist Party of China’s Politburo Standing Committee and Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC) is leading a high-ranking delegation of China’s Party and State senior officials on an official visit to Vietnam from November 8-11 at the invitation of Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan, member of the Communist Party of Vietnam’s Politburo and Chairwoman of the National Assembly (NA).

The visit aims to implement a cooperation agreement signed between Vietnam’s NA and China’s NPC in December 2015 on exchanges of high-ranking delegations between the two countries.

This is the first visit to Vietnam by a senior official of the Party, State and NPC of China after Vietnam’s 12th National Party Congress and the election of deputies to Vietnam’s Fourteenth NA.

Joining the Chinese delegation are also Wang Chen, NPC Deputy Chairperson; Song Tao, head of the Chinese Party Central Committee’s International Liaison Department; Zhang Yesui, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs; Gao Yan, Deputy Minister of Commerce; and Hong Xiaoyong, Chinese Ambassador to Vietnam./.
