(VEN) - The Industry and Trade Fair 2015 held in Kon Tum Province in the Central Highlands was part of the National Trade Promotion Program, which is organized annually by provinces in the region to promote their key products and potential in trade, investment and tourism development.

The Industry and Trade Fair 2015 held in Kon Tum Province in the Central Highlands was part of the National Trade Promotion Program, which is organized annually by provinces in the region to promote their key products and potential in trade, investment and tourism development.

The fair attracted more than 200 businesses from 15 provinces and cities across the country, with products displayed in 400 booths, said Hoang Doan Van, the Director of Bak Central, organizer of the Central Highlands-Kon Tum Industry and Trade Fair 2015, in an interview with Vietnam Economic News’ Tran Minh Tich.

In addition to Kon Tum Province’s booths introducing its socioeconomic achievements and preferential policies and incentives in terms of trade and investment, there are booths introducing key products set up by industry and trade promotion centers from other provinces and cities including Dak Nong, Binh Phuoc, Dak Lak, Lam Dong, Vinh Long, Ho Chi Minh City, Ba Ria-Vung Tau, Ben Tre, Binh Thuan, An Giang, Ninh Thuan, Quang Nam, Thua Thien Hue, Hanoi and Thai Nguyen. There were also more than 30 Lao and Thai pavilions.

A variety of merchandise were introduced at the fair including building materials, home decor, food and foodstuffs, beverages, confectionery, fresh fruit, agricultural products and machinery, electronic appliances, garments and textiles, pesticides and fertilizers, automobiles, motorcycles, fine-art articles and craft products, and tourism, finance, banking, communications and insurance services.

The Kon Tum Province Department of Industry and Trade coordinated with relevant agencies and departments, people’s committees and the Gia Lai-Kon Tum Customs Department to launch the Central Highlands-Kon Tum Industry and Trade Fair 2015 from April 24-30 at the March 16 Square in the city of Kon Tum.

The fair attracted some major companies including the Vietnam Brewery Limited, Acecook Vietnam, Vietnam Engine and Agricultural Machinery Corporation, Nutifood and Hapro.

Within the framework of the fair, there were a trade link promotion conference for businesses in An Giang and Kon Tum provinces, a workshop on trade promotion in the central region chaired by the Vietnam Trade Promotion Agency office, and a series of activities including barter, contract signing, and voting for outstanding booths.

The fair is regarded as an important trade promotion channel, helping businesses in the Central Highlands and Kon Tum Province introduce their potential and key products to both domestic and foreign visitors and partners, promote their trade links with other domestic and foreign businesses, and enhance their competitiveness in the market. In addition, the fair also opened up new opportunities for businesses, especially for those are operating in the Central Highlands and Kon Tum Province, to boost their development in the coming time.
