Binh Thuan attracts tourists

(VEN) - According to the latest report, in the first quarter of this year, Binh Thuan Province attracted about 982,000 visitors, including 135,000 foreign tourists from Russia, Germany, the Republic of Korea (RoK), France, Sweden, the US, the UK and Australia. Total revenues in the first quarter of this year reached over VND2.01 trillion.

According to Binh Thuan Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, to achieve impressive results, in addition to beautiful landscapes, good service quality and persified tourism products, the safe and friendly environment has played an important role to attract visitors.

Compared to other tourist destinations throughout the country, Binh Thuan Province has limitations in terms of transport such as no airport and seaport. However, the number of international visitors to Binh Thuan Province has annually increased by 25-30 percent. In addition, revenues from tourism have also made an impression. In 2013, total revenues reached an estimated VND5.36 trillion, an increase of 22.6 percent compared to 2012.

Binh Thuan Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Director Ngo Minh Chinh said that Binh Thuan People’s Committee identified to develop and invest in tourism. Tourism is a key sector positively contributing to socioeconomic development. The province established the steering committee to develop tourism in 1999 with the aim of creating the safe and friendly environment to attract visitors. In addition, the province has deployed forces at key tourist points to timely prevent beggars, hawkers and thieves. Moreover, households, restaurants, bars in tourist destinations must sign a commitment to not increase prices, contributing to creating the friendly environment for visitors.

Binh Thuan Department of Planning and Investment Director Luong Van Hai said that to date, the province had 392 tourism projects covering on an area of 3,263 hectares with a total investment capital of VND11.272 trillion. 94 tourism projects were put into operation and 110 projects have been deployed. In addition, the province is completing administrative procedures in terms of compensation to people and technical designs for tourist areas. In general, all projects that were put into operation have brought positive results, contributing to improving business efficiency and service quality. In 2014, the province will pay special attention to large-scale projects. In addition to promoting investment, the province also will focus on building an image of the safe and friendly environment./.

Together with the potentials in terms of humanity, religious beliefs and historical monuments serving tourism development and nearly 200km coastline with many beautiful beaches, Binh Thuan tourism will achieve set goals of attracting 3.7 million visitors and reaching revenues of VND6 trillion in 2014. In addition, Binh Thuan tourism could attract 4.5 million visitors and reach revenues of VND7.5 trillion in 2015.
