According to the Binh Phuoc Province People’s Committee, the Binh Phuoc Industry Promotion Center effectively implemented a wide variety of rural industrial development projects during the 2011-2015 period based on combined local and central industry promotion funding resources. During the 2012-2015 period, national industry promotion funding totaled VND3.67 billion and mainly focused on technical demonstration models, machinery purchases and vocational training.
For example, the center spent VND146.25 million on a cashew production line at the Anh Viet Trading Co. Ltd located in Hamlet 3 in Bu Dang District’s Thong Nhat Commune. The one-tone-an-hour line has helped improve Anh Viet’s cashew production and quality while attracting some local cashew producers to come to learn from the model.
To further promote provincial industrial development in the 2016-2020 period, Binh Phuoc has approved a VND126.34 billion industry promotion project, including VND18.8 billion in national industry promotion funding and VND18.54 billion in local industry promotion funding.
The province has outlined a series of industry promotion targets for the 2016-2020 period including vocational training for 750 workers, funding for 100 business start-up models and 1,000 business starters-up and promoting cleaner industrial production.
The center has built five technical and technological demonstration models, supported 100 rural industrial bases in upgrading their technology, assisted 200 rural industrial bases to participate in expos and 13 rural industrial bases to build brand names, and prepared and implemented waste treatment systems for four local industrial clusters.
Local industry promotion information has been broadcast via media, especially the benefits of cleaner industrial production, with a view to raising local people’s awareness of the importance of industrial development.
The province will continue to perfect the provincial industry promotion mechanism with a focus on related incentives, management and guidance and intensively invest in local industry promotion bases and staff training.
