The information was released by Daejeon’s Vice Mayor Lee Taek Ku during his working session with Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee of Binh Duong province Mai Hung Dung on October 4.

Lee suggested Daejeon and Binh Duong step up cooperation in health care and science-technology, especially medical tourism, and the transfer of science and technology in health care.

For his part, Dung said Binh Duong has made great progress in socio-economic development and smart city building.

Binh Duong and Daejeon have launched many cooperation programmes in education, culture and social affairs, he said, noting that a large number of RoK businesses have increased their investment in the province.

Dung thanked the Daejeon delegation for their support to Binh Duong in hosting the WTA 2018.

During his meeting with a delegation of the urban promotion and development association of Japan’s Aichi prefecture the same day, Dung expressed his hope that there will be more Japanese investors coming to Binh Duong, especially in urban development and services.

Binh Duong will build new urban areas towards civilization and modernity, and zone off land for public establishments and green urban space, aiming to become the first-tier urban area.

Yamamoto Daisuke, who led the Japanese delegation, lauded the socio-economic development in Binh Duong in general and its urban development efforts in particular.

He congratulated Binh Duong on its official membership of the WTA.

The WTA gathers 106 members from 48 countries and territories worldwide, including five from Southeast Asia – Vietnam, Indonesia, the Philippines, Malaysia and Cambodia.
