(VEN) - The Banking University of Ho Chi Minh City is prestigious in education and scientific research at the national and regional level. Many new teaching and learning strategies are being applied to compete with domestic and international universities.
“With 40 years of development, the Banking University of Ho Chi Minh City has gradually expanded its scale, improved training quality and promoted links with many domestic and international universities. The university annually provides 3,000 undergraduate and 350 postgraduate students, and 10 doctors for organizations, businesses and financial institutions,” Honored Teacher, Associate Professor, Dr. Ly Hoang Anh, Rector of the Banking University of Ho Chi Minh City said.
The university aims to become a prestigious institution in academic, staff and facilities. Many training programs have met the regional standard and caught up the international education trend. Postgraduate is considered long-term development strategy, to improve the human resources quality for the demand of socioeconomic development.
International education cooperation has gained a lot of success. The training program between the Banking University of Ho Chi Minh City and the UK’s Bolton University has been implemented since 2005, with 11 courses in the undergraduate program and 18 courses in the postgraduate program.
The Banking University of Ho Chi Minh City has also cooperated with the University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland to organize the postgraduate training program in finance and banking. As of date, 16 training courses have been implemented, with 504 current students and 318 graduates.
Former student Nguyen Xuan Minh said that the university’s advanced training method following international standards has helped students much in their jobs.
Cooperation between the Banking University of Ho Chi Minh City and foreign universities is a necessary direction, contributing to bringing valuable experience for students in a context where Vietnam is promoting international economic integration.
The university constructed a nine-floor dormitory with total investment of VND172 billion in early May 2013. It was completed by January 2015 and was put into using in September 2015.
The university has also made continuous efforts to renew teaching and learning methods as well as promoting links with foreign universities to offer high-quality training courses for students.
