Bac Giang’s outstanding rural industrial products

(VEN) - Four products manufactured in the northeastern province of Bac Giang have been certified as outstanding rural industrial products of Vietnam’s northern region. They were among 10 products made in the province and certified as outstanding rural industrial products.

The four are Ven Village green tea made by the Than Truong Cooperative in Yen The District, Cotto bricks of the Bac Giang Star Joint Stock Company, finger joint panels of the Vu Thinh Co. Ltd. in Lang Giang District, and the medicinal herb Desmodii styracifolii (locally known as Kim Tien Thao) of the OPC Bac Giang Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company in Yen Dung District.

Hoang Van Toan, director of the OPC Bac Giang Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company, said the company’s Kim Tien Thao product is made with standard equipment and technology and gained the Vietnam Standards and Quality Institute (VSQI)’s Gold Medal for High Quality Products in 2016.

In 2010, the Vu Thinh Co. Ltd. procured a finger joint panel production line worth more than VND5 billion. This was the first technology of its kind in Bac Giang. The company makes finger joint panel from planted timbers and indoor furniture production materials.

Ven Village green tea is cultivated according to the Vietnamese Good Agricultural Practices (VietGAP) and has a unique taste and high quality. The product has carved a niche on the market and proved its prestige.

The Bac Giang Star Joint Stock Company’s high quality Cotto bricks are produced with Italian and German technologies.

According to the jury, Bac Giang’s products satisfy important standards, such as food hygiene and safety, novelty, creativity and industrial production feasibility. They are among the brightest candidates for the nation’s outstanding rural industrial products in 2017, the jury said.

Hoang Chinh Nghia, deputy director of the Ministry of Industry and Trade’s Agency for Regional Industry Development, said surveys are being carried out in enterprises to ensure fair and accurate verification and selection.
