(VEN) - The Bac Giang Province People’s Committee has approved a provincial industry promotion plan for the 2016-2020 period with improved financial funding and incentives.

Positive results

According to the Bac Giang Department of Industry and Trade, the province has achieved positive results in industry promotion during the 2011-2015 period. With its VND18.9 billion industry promotion funding, the province has supported 185 projects. Moreover, it has also raised more than VND179.7 billion as counterpart capital from local rural industrial facilities.

Bac Giang has supported seven technical demonstration models and 41 technology transfer and application projects and one workshop on alcohol distillation model in Van Village. These projects and models have created about 700 jobs with monthly average salary of VND3 million.

The province has offered vocational training for 3,595 rural workers and about 84 percent of which have found stable jobs after the course. It has also implemented 31 outstanding rural industrial product development projects and three industrial cluster development projects.

Industry promotion activities have contribute significantly to Bac Giang’s rural industrial development during the 2011-2015 period, marking an annual average increase of 10.5 percent while boosting rural industrial bases and creating more rural jobs.

In addition, these activities have helped widen the market for local products and boost the development of craft villages including Tang Tien, Ke and Dinh Tri.

Long-term industry promotion

The Bac Giang Province People’s Committee has approved the provincial industry promotion plan for the 2016-2020 period, with a total funding of VND141.35 billion, including VND38.35 billion worth of national industry promotion funding.

The province aims to provide vocational training for 2,625 workers, support 171 rural industrial facilities to build technical demonstration models and apply modern technologies and equipment, and provide consultancy for seven industrial clusters in terms of planning, investment and infrastructure.

The province has encouraged local rural industrial facilities via incentives and favorable mechanisms. It will review and amend local industry promotion regulations, along with improving industry promotion database serving related assessments.

Bac Giang will also focus more on training of industry promotion staff, regularly update industry promotion information, and prepare industry promotion project guiding documents to facilitate the implementation of industry promotion projects, while ensuring sufficient funding for industry promotion projects through combining local and national industry promotion funding sources.
