(VEN) - The industry and trade sector of Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province has undertaken to create a favorable business environment for businesses in keeping with government resolutions.

In particular, the province is prioritizing the assurance of business rights, equal access to human resources and business opportunities. In the first six months of 2020, the Department of Industry and Trade effectively implemented industry promotion and trade promotion policies to support enterprises in purchasing equipment and machinery, improving technology, training human resources, building brands, and finding markets.
In terms of industry promotion, the province completed four national projects in 2019, which are currently operating stably, helping beneficiary enterprises improve production capacity and product quality. The local industry promotion program for 2020 has been approved and allocated funding, enabling review of applications and signing of contracts.
In addition, the provincial Department of Industry and Trade has updated and provided domestic and foreign market information on prices, supply of raw materials, technology, and consumer markets of products with competitive advantages.
The department has also researched and deployed solutions to attract enterprises to high-tech manufacturing industries, which create high added value. Specifically, the department has contributed to building and appraising a number of key projects in the province, such as the polypropylene production project of the Hyosung Vietnam Limited Company, the gas pipeline project of My Xuan B1 Industrial Zone and the NPK fertilizer project of the PetroVietnam Fertilizer and Chemicals Corporation (PVFCCo).
The department has also compiled the provincial electricity development plan for the 2016-2025 period with orientations to 2035, to serve as a basis for grid investment in order to meet the power needs of production and business. In addition, the department has attracted investment for industrial clusters, creating premises for small and medium-sized enterprises in rural areas.
In the first six months of 2020, the industry and trade sector of Ba Ria-Vung Tau acted as an advisor for the provincial People’s Committee on issuing 26 administrative procedures, amending nine administrative procedures and abolishing three. Through specialized inspection of electricity use, food safety, commercial activities and the implementation of emergency measures to prevent and control Covid-19, the Department of Industry and Trade also endeavored to protect the rights and interests of the business community in the province.
