Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province is located on the coast of the country’s southeast region, in the southern key economic zone. It is also located on the Trans-Asia route, and has an important sea, air and river network system as well as ports to accommodate cruise ships. The province shares its border with Ho Chi Minh City to the west, Dong Nai Province to the north and Binh Thuan Province to the east. It has a tropical monsoon climate with stable temperatures and few storms, making it more advantageous for tourism development compared with other coastal provinces.

To take full advantage of its potential, the province needs investments of VND70 trillion in order to welcome some 8.6 million tourists with total revenue reaching VND31 trillion in 2025 and 17 million arrivals generating a total of VND102 trillion in revenue in 2030.

Ba Ria-Vung Tau has gently sloping sand dunes rolling down to a turquoise sea, a suitable setting for seaside resorts and various forms of sports tourism. It also offers visitors ecological, cultural tourism, festivals, handicraft villages, relic sites, entertainment complexes and local food.

One of the province’s famous destinations is the archipelago of Con Dao, with its 16 large and small islands close to the international sea route from Europe to Asia holding potential for the province’s marine tourism development.

The province has a unique diversified coastal and marine ecosystem, suited to those seeking ecological tourism. The Binh Chau-Phuoc Buu Nature Reserve and Con Dao National Park offers a diversity of animals and various ways to discover the ocean such as diving, watching corals, and catching tuna.

The Binh Chau Hot Spring is suitable for leisure travel or therapeutic purposes. For those who like to climb mountains or observe the sunset or the sunrise from high up in mountains, Minh Dam Mountain, Dinh Mountain, Big Mountain, Small Mountain are attractive options.

Visitors can also learn about history, culture, relic sites, architecture and religion of the province at Thang Tam Temple, Kito Christ statue, Long Phuoc tunnel, Bau Sen Base, Loc An wharf with the Ho Chi Minh Trail at Sea, Hang Duong cemetery and Con Dao prison.

Ba Ria-Vung Tau also has many folk festivals featuring the traditional culture of local residents such as the Nghinh Ong Dinh Thang Tam Festival, and the Dinh Co and Trung Cuu festivals.
