Attracting investment in Dat Cuoc IP

(VEN) - With many advantages in terms of location and complete infrastructure, Dat Cuoc Industrial Park in Binh Duong Province, invested by Binh Duong Minerals And Construction Joint Stock Company (BIMICO) has rapidly attracted a large number of investors. Vietnam Economic New’s Thu Duyen had an interview with Deputy Director of BIMICO Pham Van Hiep.

Can you tell us some outlines about investment attraction and infrastructure development in Dat Cuoc IP recently?

Dat Cuoc IP is situated in the northeast of Tan Uyen District, about 30 km from Thu Dau Mot Town and 70 km from Ho Chi Minh City. It was built on an area of 212.84 ha and is being enlarged by an additional 340 ha, pided into two pisions. To date, 85 percent of Division A area has been occupied and infrastructure investment was in accordance with the detailed plans approved by Binh Duong Province People's Committee. Meanwhile, Division B is calling and receiving interests from domestic and foreign investors. The highlight of the IP is that it possesses many advantages for industrial and business development with professional and convenient services and an abundant workforce.

What are special comparative advantages of Dat Cuoc IP compared with others in the province and what should be done to exploit these advantages for investment attraction into it?

Other advantages of Dat Cuoc IP are: it has clean premises and is located inside the Binh Duong Industry-Service-Urban Complex. Therefore, to preempt and exploit those advantages, BIMICO are pouring investment for a complete infrastructure in a bid to serve large scale enterprises with modern technologies and ensure that they can carry out projects as fast as they can. In addition, the IP also coordinated with the provincial Employment Promotion Center and vocational training schools to train skillful workforce to supply investors in need.

Until now, Dat Cuoc IP has attracted 32 investment projects with total registered capital of US$56.2 million, of these 24 are foreign-invested projects from different countries and territories such as the Republic of Korea, China, Japan, Malaysia, Taiwan and Hong Kong.

How are the environmental protection and management of the IP implemented?

A complete and modern infrastructure of Dat Cuoc IP requires investors to value a community-based lifestyle and to ensure a sustainable and environmentally-friendly development when conducting investment here. This is also a solid foundation for the investors to rest assured to do business in the IP.

BIMICO operates on a number of areas such as real estate, quarrying, infrastructure investment and pure water production with many attached units like a stone exploiting and processing enterprise, Binh Phu Bricks and Tiles Factory, a centrifugal concrete production enterprise and a pure water production enterprise./.
