An arts program themed ‘Sacred recollections’ was held at Vietnam - International Martyrs' Cemetery in Anh Son district, in the central province of Nghe An, on January 21, to recall special solidarity between Vietnam and Laos.

The event was attended by Politburo member and Vice Chairwoman of National Assembly (NA) Tong Thi Phong.
Addressing the program, NA Vice Chairwoman Phong praised the event as part of the practical activities to celebrate the 89th founding anniversary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (February 3), the 70th founding anniversary of Lao People's Revolutionary Army and the 70th anniversary of the Vietnam - Laos Combat Union.
The solidarity and comprehensive cooperation have become invaluable assets, creating marvelous power for the two nations, she added.
The Vietnamese NA Chairwoman also noted that the faithful attachment and lasting friendship between Vietnam and Laos have been built and nurtured by President Ho Chi Minh and Lao Presidents Kaysone Phomvihane and Souphanouvong along with the two Parties, States and peoples.
Vietnam - Laos International Cemetery is the resting place of over 11,000 Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and military experts who bravely fought and devoted their lives to protecting their motherland and in implementing lofty international duties.
