Airbus contributes to Breathe Again campaign in Vietnam

Airbus has contributed to the “Breathe Again” campaign organized by the European Chamber of Commerce (EuroCham) in Vietnam in support of the fight against COVID-19.

Under the agreement, Airbus Vietnam is providing ICU respiratory ventilators, purified water generators for dialysis, patient parameter monitors and minimally invasive cardiac output monitors. The equipment is being sourced locally and will be distributed to hospitals that have been most hard-pressed for resources.

The donation was announced at an event at Bach Mai Hospital in Hanoi on 27 October which was attended by Jean-Michel Caldagues, current Airbus Head of Country and Managing Director, and his newly-appointed successor Tri Mai Hoang. Tri Mai will assume the role this month following Mr Caldagues’ retirement after more than 20 years representing Airbus in Vietnam.

Airbus was also represented by William Tauzin, General Manager of Airbus Vietnam Training Centre at two separate donation events held earlier on 20 and 25 October, respectively, at Dong Nai Hospital and Cho Ray Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City.

Anand Stanley, Airbus President Asia-Pacific said: "We hope that our contribution via the EuroCham initiative will help some of the hospitals that continue to face challenges due to high case numbers. Vietnam has done so well in managing the pandemic since the outset and we hope that the current situation in the country will improve soon.”
