(VEN) - AIG Vietnam, the first 100 percent-owned American general insurer in Vietnam, in partnership with the Vietnam Economic Times, Baker McKenzie and FedEx, hosted successfully a seminar entitled: “Risks Identification and Management for Exporters to the United States (US) and European Union (EU) Markets”, on August 21 in Ho Chi Minh City.
The aim of the seminar is to help businesses in Vietnam identify potential risks, protect their bottom line and strengthen their competitive ability as they engage with international markets, especially the US and EU. Vietnam’s exports have been increasing at an average of 19.5 percent per year since 2007 as joining the World Trade Organization. Total estimated exports in 2013 reached US$128 billion, ranking 34th in export size globally.
Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Tran Tuan Anh said, “Understanding potential risk exposure when exports is extremely important for Vietnamese enterprises. We do support the undertakings of AIG and partners to help Vietnamese exporters find the right insurance solutions.”
